MOBILE AIR RESEARCH LABORATORIES

Mobile Air Research Laboratories
•Two mobile labs at MSU (AirCARE 1 & 2)
•Each lab approximately 53-ft long and 36,000 lbs with 450 ft2 of interior laboratory floor space
•Both mobile laboratories equipped for either human or animal inhalation exposure studies to
concentrated ambient particles and/or O3
•Air sampling equipment to monitor concentrations of ambient particulate matter and its components
(e.g., EC, OC, metals, sulfates), pollutant gases (e.g., O3, SO2) and concurrent meteorological parameters
(e.g., wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity).
•Three interior work areas for 1) atmospheric monitoring, 2) inhalation exposures, and 3) biomedical
procedures
•Certified by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care
